Homes in Marietta and Across the Mid-Ohio Valley

Homes in Marietta and across the Mid-Ohio Valley run into more than one kind of pest problem each year. Ants and other insects are usually easy to notice once they move in as the weather warms. Termites are the opposite, working through a structure quietly, long before any damage becomes visible. Left alone, either one can become a bigger pest control problem over time.

That's why catching these problems early matters, and it's exactly what professional pest control is built for. Garman Termite and Pest treats the actual cause, so your home stays protected long after the visit ends.

Signs It's Time to Call a Marietta Pest Control Company

Many homeowners try a store-bought spray or trap before picking up the phone when they have pest problems. That approach might handle a small ant problem, but it rarely stops an infestation that's already established. Worse, it can push pests to scatter and hide deeper in the home, making them harder for a licensed technician to find and treat.

Beyond property damage, many pest issues also carry health risks, like contamination or allergic reactions that aren't always obvious.

Once any of these show up, the next step is matching the right treatment to the pest causing them.

A few signs are worth watching for:

Scratching or rustling sounds in the walls or attic.

Droppings, gnaw marks, or chewed materials around the home.

Wood that sounds hollow or shows visible damage.

Bites, stings, or skin irritation with no clear cause.

A noticeable increase in pest sightings indoors.

Our Services for Homes and Businesses in the Marietta Area

Garman Termite and Pest treats many common pests at residential and commercial properties alike. A dedicated program also covers business-specific needs through Commercial Pest Control, part of our full range of pest control services.

Termite Control

Termites do their damage out of sight, so our termite treatment starts with an inspection for the signs they leave behind, like mud tubes, discarded wings, and hollowed-out wood. What the technician finds decides the treatment, whether that's a liquid barrier in the soil around the foundation or bait stations set around the property. Either way, the goal is reaching the whole colony rather than the few termites that are visible, since the damage usually starts well before they show up.

Insect Control

Ants, wasps, and spiders rarely travel far from where they nest, so insect control means finding that source instead of treating whatever is crossing the counter. Once the technician traces the activity back to the nest or entry point, the treatment goes straight to it, with a follow-up when the pest calls for one. A wasp or bee nest close to the house gets handled the same way, before it turns into a stinging problem.

Rodent Control

Getting rid of mice and rats depends less on the traps and more on finding how they're getting in. Our rodent control clears out the activity inside, then seals those openings so new rodents can't follow the same path, which is the step store-bought traps usually skip. Left alone, mice and rats chew through wiring and insulation and lead to costly repairs.

Bed Bug Treatment

Bed bugs spread from room to room before most people notice them, so bed bug treatment starts with a close inspection of mattresses, seams, and nearby furniture, not just where the first bite showed up. From there, the treatment covers every life stage in one visit, eggs included, since anything missed can hatch a week or two later and start the problem over.

Animal Control

When wildlife gets into an attic or wall, removing the animal is only half the job. Our animal control pairs humane trapping with sealing the vent, gap, or opening it used, so nothing else moves in behind it. Scratching in the attic or damage near the roofline is usually the first sign something has found its way inside.

Commercial Pest Control

A single pest sighting in front of a customer can cost you their trust, and one visit rarely keeps that from happening. Garman builds commercial pest control around the property instead, with a full inspection, targeted treatment, and ongoing monitoring between appointments. Restaurants and other food service businesses usually need monthly visits to stay ahead of health inspections, while offices and retail spaces can hold to a quarterly schedule.

Pest Control Plans for Year-Round Protection

Calling for a one-time visit each time pests return means paying to solve the same problem more than once. Garman's ongoing plans build regular visits throughout the year to keep your property pest free.

Silver Plan

2 exterior visits · Spring & Fall

Our Silver Plan covers two exterior visits each year, one in spring and one in fall. Technicians target ants, centipedes, millipedes, earwigs, wasps, spiders, and other common invaders around the outside of the home. Each visit is backed by a 30-day service agreement. However, this plan covers exterior prevention only, without interior work or added visits.

Gold Plan

Up to 3 visits · + Summer

With our Gold Plan we include up to three exterior visits a year, adding a summer treatment alongside spring and fall. It covers everything in Silver, plus offering treatment for carpenter ants, carpenter bees, and honeybees. The agreement runs year-round, and if pests return between scheduled visits, Garman comes back at no extra charge. You should also know that interior treatment is available as needed.

Platinum Plan

4 visits · + Winter termite & rodent

Platinum covers everything in Gold, plus a fourth visit each winter for a full termite inspection and rodent control. Termite treatment itself isn't included at this tier, since the winter visit is for inspection only. It's the plan built for homes that want termite and rodent monitoring layered on top of year-round pest coverage.

The Credentials Behind Every Garman Visit

Deciding who to call for a pest problem often comes down to what a company can prove about itself. Garman Termite and Pest backs every visit with a license, insurance, and a written service agreement.

An Inspection Before Any Treatment

Every job starts with a technician confirming the specific problem on-site. A thorough walk-through allows them to perform checks of entry points, active signs, and the extent of the problem. That inspection shapes the treatment plan for that specific job.

On-Time Service

Garman is a small, local company offering reliable pest control, with appointments that start on the day they're scheduled.

A Written Service Agreement

Coverage terms vary by service, ranging from 30 days to five years depending on the work performed. The agreement spells out what's included before a technician leaves.

Serving Washington County and the Surrounding Region

Garman Termite and Pest is a local pest control company based in Whipple, Ohio, in the heart of Washington County. From there, technicians travel throughout the surrounding region to reach homes and businesses in these communities:

What Happens When You Call Our Licensed Exterminators

Knowing what to expect from our pest and animal control services before you call makes it easier to pick up the phone. Garman keeps the process simple, with the same four steps for every job:

Call the Office

Every job starts with a phone call to Garman's office. A member of the team picks up and gets some basic details about your property and you.

Describe the Problem

During the initial call, you describe what's happening at the property. That might mean describing a sound in the walls or visible damage somewhere on the home.

Book an Appointment

Based on the initial conversation, the office schedules either an inspection or a treatment visit. You'll get a specific day and time before you hang up.

A Technician Handles the Job

Once everything's set, a technician arrives on the scheduled day and gets right to work. That visit could mean an inspection, treatment, or both, depending on what was booked.

Frequently Asked Questions

A few questions come up often before someone calls Garman for the first time.

Garman follows label instructions and Ohio pest control regulations for every treatment used. Products are matched to the pest and the situation, including homes with children or pets. If you have specific concerns, mention them when you call and the office will address them directly.

Appointment timing depends on current scheduling and the service needed. Demand tends to be higher during spring, summer, and fall, our busiest seasons for pest activity. The team can walk you through available times when you call.

The office will walk you through anything you need to do before your appointment. Preparation varies depending on the treatment being performed. In most cases, having clear access to the area is enough.

Rental properties are treated the same as owner-occupied homes. The office can coordinate scheduling and access details directly with whoever manages the property. Just let the team know the property type when you call.

Don't Give the Local Pest Problem More Time to Spread

A pest problem left alone rarely stays the same size. The longer it sits, the more it can spread through your property. Call today and let Garman get to work before it grows and becomes a headache you don’t want to deal with now or in the future.
